The Eburru Power Project Begins Shipping
GDA has begun shipping equipment to Kenya for the Eburru Wellhead Geothermal Power Plant. Shipments from the East Coast of the United States include cooling tower components, condenser & gas extraction equipment. Shipments from our facility in Reno, NV include the generator, turbine, gearbox and balance of plant. Shipments will continue through the end of January.
KenGen is the leading electric power generation company in Kenya, producing about 80% of the electricity consumed in the country. They currently own and operate two geothermal power stations with a total production of 115 MW.
Eburru is located approximately 2 hours outside of the capital, Nairobi, in Kenya’s countryside in the Great Rift Valley. The Eburru geothermal field is along the flanks of the Ol Doinyo Eburru Volcano and is situated 11 km northwest of Lake Naivasha.
